Sunday is a Work Day (and pool day for us)

Today was Sunday, a work day for Israelis and Jim.  But, the girls do not have school.  Most Israeli schools start the week on Sunday, but the girls are in a British school that goes Monday-Friday. This is something that will make life more complicated. We only have one full day each week when everyone is off. Jim has Friday off, but we still have to wake up early to get the girls to a half day of school. The girls are out Sunday, but Jim has to go to the office.  Josh’s school is also on a Sunday-Thursday schedule.  If that isn’t complicated enough, Josh and the girls also have different holiday schedules!

Since Jim was working, I took the girls to the gym pool for the first time.

I thought it would be a good idea to pay for the pool membership so they could swim on these hot Israeli days.  It seemed to always be packed with adults and kids.  That idea did NOT turn out to be a good one.

Mika and Summer jumped in and Mika was out in a hot minute!  Apparently it was too cold?  The salt water pool is NOT heated and water is pumped in from the ocean every night.  Mika would not get back into the water even with bribes.

We have tried to take her several times since with the same result.  Luckily, I only paid for the first month of my membership since I didn’t have the Israeli credit card yet.  I hope I can change it when I go back with my new credit card since we may not be using this pool at all!

Does this ring a bell? Have something to share?
