Holocaust Remembrance Day

Israel literally came to a standstill today for two minutes on Holocaust Remembrance Day.  Last night everything closed including restaurants to mark the start of the annual day dedicated to remember the 6 million Jews who were killed.  A siren rings throughout the country while everyone in offices, schools…even drivers pull over on the street to pay a powerful tribute in a moment of silence.

Last night Josh’s school hosted a Holocaust survivor who spoke to all the students about her experience in Poland hiding with a Catholic family before moving to Israel. Mika even came home from kindergarten asking if I heard the sirens and what was I thinking about when they went off. #holocaustremembranceday #powerfultribute #holocaust #israel
